Treatment principles in children with cholestatic liver disease Cahit Barış Erdur1, İshak Işık2 1Dr. Behcet Uz Children's Hospital, Department Of Pediatric Gastroenterology 2Kayseri Teaching And Research Hospital, Department Of Pediatric Gastroenterology In children, most of the cholestatic diseases have unknown etiology and there is no spesific treatment option. In these cases, therapy can only be directed toward supression of the pathogenetic processes and the amelioration of the consequences of cholestasis. By this way life quality of the children can be promoted until the recovery of the cholestasis or progression of the cholestatic process to liver transplantation requirement on the other point. Treatment modalities in children with cholestatic liver disease can be devided in to two groups. Specific treatment of underlining disease is placed in the first group and treatment and prevention of complications secondary to cholestasis itself is in the second group. In this report, general principles of treatment in children with cholestatic liver disease were discussed. Bu olgularda tedavi patogenetik süreci baskılamaya ve kolestazın sonuçlarını düzeltmeye yönelik olmaktadır. Bu şekilde, kolestaz iyileşene kadar veya diğer uçta kolestatik süreç ilerleyerek karaciğer nakli gerektirene kadar çocukların yaşam kalitesi artırılabilmektedir. Kolestazlı hastaların tedavisi iki grupta incelenmektedir. Birinci grupta temel soruna yönelik özgül tedaviler yer almaktadır. İkinci grupta ise kolestaza ikincil olarak gelişen komplikasyonların önlenmesi ve düzeltilmesine yönelik genel tedaviler bulunmaktadır. Bu yazıda kolestatik karaciğer hastalığı olan çocuklarda genel tedavi prensipleri tartışılmıştır.
