Orbital infections are seen most commonly in childhood. They require urgent treatment because of causing worse outcomes such as sepsis, meningitis, loss of vision and death. Although these infections are usually seen as complication of trauma and paranasal sinusitis, nasolacrimal agenesis is the most common etiology in the newborns. Herein a case of intraorbital abscess in a 10 days old female newborn occuring at the background of dacriocystocele is reported. The culture of abscess material revealed S. aureus and the patient was succesfully treated with efficient antibiotic treatment and abscess drainage.
