Abstract
Gastrointestinal diseases in childhood are not smaller versions of those that seen in adults. Some disorders are almost always confined to the pediatric age group. Considering the number of endoscopic biopsies performed on children is less than the number performed on adults, clinical features of gastrointestinal disorders in children may not be familiar to general pediatricians and histological features are probably less well known.
In this article, it is discussed that pediatric gastroenterology has increasingly become a popular subspecialty and an experienced team of pediatrics and pathology in pediatric gastroenterology increases the contribution of endoscopic biopsy to diagnosis.
