Abstract

Facial nerve palsy is a rare neurologic manifestation of Kawasaki disease. There are several mechanisms in occurrence of facial nerve palsy. It is usually transient and lasting from 1 to 90 days. The palsy normally resolves spontaneously and completely. It may indicate an increased risk of coronary artery aneurism. In this report, a ten month old girl with prolong fever, aseptic meningitis and facial palsy who later diagnosed as Kawasaki disease is described and also the clinical features of 37 cases in the literature are reviewed.
