Abstract
Kawasaki disease with unknown etiology is an acute systemic vasculitis which effects the small and moderate sized arteries. The early diagnosis and rapid treatment of disease is essential to obtain possitive results of the coronary artery involvement. There is no specific laboratory test and it can be diagnosed with clinical signs. Because of insufficient criteria for clinical diagnosis in some patients, the diagnose of the disease may be delayed at some one who start with atypical symptoms. Central nervous system involvement should be an atypical start of the disease. In this article, a 7-year-old boy is presented who was diagnosed as aseptic meningitis and then Kawasaki disease following fever, erythematous rash, vomiting an abdominal pain. With early diagnosis and treatment, the cardiovascular sequelae can be prevented. Therefore, Kawasaki disease should be think on differential diagnosis especially in the patients who are unresponsive to the treatment of meningitis.
